Coloring order

  1. Color the jar Abraham holds, his red robe, white beard and wide-open arm first, then the big tree trunk arching overhead in brown.
  2. Give the three guests sitting around the small table in the shade, and the bread and bowls on it, different colors.
  3. Alternate two or three greens on the leaves, then finish the tent behind, the grass in front and the dirt path.

Questions to talk about

  • What greeting do you think Abraham gave his guests?
  • What food might be on the table in the shade of the tree?
  • What would you like to say first to a new friend who has just arrived?

Take it further

In Genesis 18 Abraham offers travelers water and a place to rest. Act out welcoming a guest: say hello, hand over a cup of water and offer a chair.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
