Coloring order

  1. Start with Daniel's green robe and belt, then give each of the court officials on the left a different color for their clothes.
  2. Color the king on the right, resting his chin on his hand: his crown, blue robe and the gold decoration on his throne.
  3. Alternate colors tile by tile on the round table in front, and finish with the little tree, rocky mountain and star standing on top.

Questions to talk about

  • What do you think is worrying the king as he rests his chin?
  • What kind of dream might the tree, mountain and star come from?
  • Have you ever calmly explained something hard to someone?

Take it further

Draw a dream you really had or one you imagine, and tell it to a friend. You may borrow the tree, mountain or star from the table in this picture.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
