Coloring order

  1. Color Esther's long blue gown and the pink cloak over her shoulders in big sections, and her face and hand on her chest in a soft skin tone.
  2. Give the little crown on her head, the gold edging on her hem and the clothes of the attendants behind her each their own colors.
  3. Work patiently, starting with the smallest spaces, on the winged-creature pattern on the palace wall, the columns, the pool and the pomegranate pots.

Questions to talk about

  • What is on Esther's mind as she walks with a hand on her chest?
  • What sounds and scents might you notice walking through a palace courtyard?
  • Has there been something you had to say even though you felt nervous?

Take it further

In Esther 5 Esther gathers great courage to approach the king. Draw one moment when you were brave, then swap pictures with a friend and talk about them.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
