Coloring order
- First color the dark parts of the panda in one deep shade: the ears, the patches around the eyes, and the arms and legs.
- Paint the bamboo stalk in light and dark green, switching at each joint, and fill every leaf with green.
- Leave the white face and belly as they are. Finish the nose and the round foot pads in dark brown.
Questions to talk about
- How is the panda holding the bamboo in its paws?
- What sound might you hear while the panda munches bamboo?
- What does your face look like when you eat a favorite snack? Can you show us?
Take it further
Roll green paper into a tube, draw joints on it for bamboo, and stand it by the panda. Then invent crunchy eating sounds together.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
