- Estimated time
- 20–35 min
- Difficulty

- Areas to color
- about 40
Coloring order
- The black tailcoat is the largest area, so color it first in black or deep navy, then the vest underneath in gray.
- Use deep red for the bow tie, orange-brown for the feathers, and cream around the round eyes.
- Finish the thin baton in the hand, the feathers at the tips of the outstretched wings, and the orange feet.
Questions to talk about
- How might Barnaby's arms move when the music is loud, and when it is soft?
- Which animals might be playing in the orchestra in front of Barnaby?
- Have you ever moved your body to a song you love?
Take it further
Use a rolled paper stick as a baton and conduct loud, soft, fast and slow, while friends follow with claps or voices.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
