Coloring order

  1. Divide Orion's spacesuit into white and light blue, doing the large areas first, and match the helmet rim to the same blue.
  2. Color the cat's face inside the helmet with orange and brown stripes, and the round headset by the ears in teal.
  3. Last, choose a color for each small piece: the star badge, the little flag on the arm, the belt, the backpack and the striped tail.

Questions to talk about

  • Which planet has Orion landed on, and what was discovered there?
  • What might be packed inside Orion's backpack?
  • Have you looked up at the moon or the stars? What did you see?

Take it further

Draw three things Orion should pack for a trip to the moon to make a space-bag list, and explain why you picked each one.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
