Coloring order
- Divide Orion's spacesuit into white and light blue, doing the large areas first, and match the helmet rim to the same blue.
- Color the cat's face inside the helmet with orange and brown stripes, and the round headset by the ears in teal.
- Last, choose a color for each small piece: the star badge, the little flag on the arm, the belt, the backpack and the striped tail.
Questions to talk about
- Which planet has Orion landed on, and what was discovered there?
- What might be packed inside Orion's backpack?
- Have you looked up at the moon or the stars? What did you see?
Take it further
Draw three things Orion should pack for a trip to the moon to make a space-bag list, and explain why you picked each one.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
