Coloring order

  1. Start with the apple tree at top left, the tree hung with grapes and figs on the right, and the woods and mountain behind, using a few different greens.
  2. Color Adam and Eve's leaf clothes by switching between light and dark green leaf by leaf, then the spotted fawn and the little rabbit sitting up.
  3. Save the bird on the branch, the lion napping on the right with the squirrel, the stream curling to the bottom right, and the flowers for last.

Questions to talk about

  • If Adam gave this fawn a name, what do you think he would call it?
  • How do you think Adam and Eve felt, surrounded by all these animals in Eden?
  • Is there an animal or plant near your home that you really care about?

Take it further

Tell how Adam named the animals in Genesis 2, then give the deer, rabbit, lion, squirrel and bird in the picture new names together and make a name tag for each one.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
