Coloring order

  1. Color Peter first: the red cloth over his shoulder, the blue belt and the cream tunic. One hand rests on his chest.
  2. Give the mother with her baby, the children and the grown-ups looking up at him headscarves and clothes in different colors, one person at a time.
  3. Finish with the awning at upper left, the stone wall, the tree, and the bread baskets and jars at the bottom.

Questions to talk about

  • What story is Peter telling the families?
  • How does the mother holding her baby look as she listens?
  • Have you ever spoken in front of a group? How did it feel?

Take it further

Make a storytelling chair in a circle. Take turns sitting in it to share one happy thing from today, while the listeners nod along.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
