Coloring order

Color Solomon's purple robe, white tunic and headband crown in big shapes one at a time, and don't forget the hand holding the scroll.
Color the small building model on the table he is pointing to, and the scrolls stacked beside it, in sandstone and gold.
Last, work slowly on the columns and pool behind him, the pomegranate branch, and the faraway city with its people, starting with the smallest spaces.

Questions to talk about

What do you think Solomon is thinking as he looks at the little building model?
If you could ask for just one wish, what would you ask for?
When you run into a hard problem, who do you go to for help?

Take it further

In 1 Kings 3 Solomon asks for wisdom. Design a building with blocks or paper cups, and finish it together by listening to each person's ideas.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.

Printing and coloring tips

Print on A4 or Letter in portrait to keep the original proportions.
Keep the finished version open beside you while you color.
Use slightly heavier paper with water-based markers so the ink shows through less.
Fill the large areas first and leave the small ones for later.
The finished version is only a suggestion. Any colors you like will work.
