Coloring order
- Color Frostcrown's body, four thick legs and tail in a deep frosty blue first.
- Follow the vein-like lines on the big frill with pale sky blue and whitish blue in turns.
- Use ivory for the long spikes around the frill and the horn on the nose, and save the round bumps on the body for last, one by one.
Questions to talk about
- How many spikes can you see around Frostcrown's head?
- This dinosaur wears a frill like a crown. What might it be guarding?
- Have you ever seen frost or ice on a cold day? What shape was it?
Take it further
Draw frost patterns with a white crayon on paper, then brush thin blue paint over them so the hidden patterns appear. Imagine Frostcrown's frill.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
