Activity guide for this page

- Ages 6–9
- Estimated time
- 25–40 min

- Medium
- Areas to color
- about 140
Coloring order
- Color Lunaptor's wide, wing-like feathers one row at a time, starting with the longest ones, in deep blue shades.
- Each feather has a crescent-moon mark. Leave them white or color them yellow so they really stand out.
- Finish with the short feathers on the head and chest, then the slim legs and hooked claws in light and dark shades.
Questions to talk about
- Those feathers are huge. Do you think Lunaptor could fly?
- On a moonlit night, where is this dinosaur running to?
- Have you ever seen a feather up close? How did it feel?
Take it further
Spread your arms like wings and tiptoe around as Lunaptor. Turn it into a freeze game: run lightly, then stop when a friend claps.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
