Coloring order
- Color the long neck stretching up high and the big body in one soft sky blue first, keeping your strokes smooth.
- Swirly cloud patterns run along the neck, back and tail. Leave some white and fill others with blue or pale violet, taking turns.
- Use a slightly deeper color for Nimbusaur's four thick legs and feet, then mark the small head and eye last.
Questions to talk about
- With a neck this long, how high could it see?
- Where would you travel on a cloud riding Nimbusaur's back?
- Have you ever looked up at clouds? What did they look like?
Take it further
Look at the clouds out a window, then draw the shape of one on blank paper. Imagine it as a brand-new swirl on Nimbusaur's back.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
