Coloring order
- Start with Sylvathumb's curling tail, sturdy body and strong legs in one or two mossy greens, filling the big areas first.

- Last, add the sharp thumb spike on the hand, the claws and the beak-like mouth in dark gray or brown.
Questions to talk about
- What do you think Sylvathumb uses that pointy thumb spike for?
- Which path through the forest is this explorer walking along?
- Have you ever walked through a forest? What did you smell and hear?
Take it further
Cut leaf shapes from green paper in several shades and overlap them along a dinosaur outline to make a scaly collage of your own forest explorer.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
