Coloring order

  1. Color the night sky navy and indigo, the crescent moon and twinkling stars pale yellow, and give the ringed planet and the two other planets violet, light blue and pink stripes.
  2. Keep Cosmion's body white, color the crescent horns gold and blend the rounded wings from blue to violet, then make the stars and dots inside the wings gold.
  3. Mix pink, violet and blue on the star marks and the comet-like feathered tail, then finish the observatory dome and telescope in gold and cream and the railing and floor in light gray.

Questions to talk about

  • Which star or planet do you think Cosmion is looking at?
  • What might the ringed planet look like through the telescope?
  • If you discovered a new star, what would you name it?

Take it further

Look up at the night sky and draw the shape of the moon you see, then compare this page with the detailed Cosmion page (one of pages 21–30) to find what was made simpler.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
