Coloring order
- Color the starry night sky deep blue and midnight indigo, leaving the star shapes white or yellow. Make the three planets violet, pink and sky blue and the crescent moon pale yellow. The sky can be its own session.
- Color Cosmion's body pearl white and blend violet and cyan on the moth wings and feathery tail. Trace the dot-and-line constellation patterns on the wings and body in gold.
- Color the crescent antenna horns rose gold and the telescope and its wheel on the right brass. Finish the terrace railing, pillars and round star-patterned floor in gray and gold, and the distant hills and town deep blue.
Questions to talk about
- What do you think Cosmion is looking for in the sky?
- What shapes do the constellations on Cosmion's wings remind you of?
- If you looked through a telescope, what would you want to see first?
Take it further
On a clear night, find a few bright stars, mark them as dots on paper, connect them with lines to make your own constellation, and give it a name.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
