Coloring order

  1. Paint Jinwoo's baggy cardigan and trousers as he perches at the edge of the porch first, alternating the stripes on the cuffs one band at a time.
  2. Color the sneakers stretched out in front in cream and the floorboards in two alternating browns, so he pops against the wood.
  3. Last, lightly color the plum branch hanging in from the upper right, the teapot on the small table and the hazy mountains behind.

Questions to talk about

  • What aroma do you think rises from the cup in Jinwoo's hand?
  • What scenery might continue beyond the far mountains behind the plum branch?
  • Was there a moment at winter's end when you felt spring coming?

Take it further

Cut a small paper coaster and draw plum blossoms on it. Set it beside the page with a cup of tea and your February tea corner is complete.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
