Coloring order

  1. Color the big tree's leafy crown and trunk in green and brown, then use two different greens for the hill behind and the meadow in front.
  2. Color Silva, grinning on the grass, lime green with yellow wings and a lighter belly, and give the little door in the trunk a color that stands out.
  3. Color only the red mushroom caps and leave their white dots blank. Finish by giving each little flower in the grass its own color.

Questions to talk about

  • There is a small door in the tree trunk. Who do you think lives inside?
  • How many mushrooms and flowers can you find in Silva's meadow?
  • Have you seen big trees or flowers in a forest or park? What do you remember?

Take it further

Turn a small box or paper cup into a fairy house: draw a door and windows with crayons, then give the friend who lives there a name.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
