Coloring order

  1. Color the big recycling machine with the gear window in the middle first: a teal body, a blue funnel and yellow gears.
  2. Use a different color for each of the three bins below and for Nari dropping a bottle into the funnel, so they are easy to tell apart.
  3. Last, color the plastic bottles, cans and bundle of paper scattered on the floor, the tool rack at the back and Toto watching beside her.

Questions to talk about

  • Which bin do you think each of the bottle, the can and the paper should go into?
  • If you could add one more feature to this machine, what would you pick?
  • How do you collect bottles and paper after using them at home?

Take it further

Put labels on three empty boxes and play recycling sorter. Drop clean paper scraps and empty lids into the right boxes.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
