Coloring order
- First, color the foaming volcano model on the tray: a brown body and flowing foam that blends orange and yellow.
- Then color Nari's safety glasses and green jacket as she tilts the measuring cup, and Toto peeking from behind the clear shield.
- Last, color the gray stones beside the tray, the trees behind and the grass, each in its own shade.
Questions to talk about
- How far down the volcano do you think the foam will flow?
- Why does Toto look so surprised behind the clear shield?
- Have you ever seen something fizzing? What did it sound like?
Take it further
Show the moment a baking soda volcano erupts using paper. Tear red and orange paper and stick the scraps above the crater.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
