Coloring order
- Winter Tulip Princess Flora's skirt is made of pointed, tulip-petal pieces layered on top of each other. Start with the biggest outer petals, switching between coral pink and yellow.
- Color the long leaf pieces tucked between the petals light green and the ruffled hem at the bottom cream. Look for the little tulip-bud charms hanging from the skirt and the tulip crown on her head, too.
- Color the tulips and white flowers in the pots on both sides, the round lamps hanging from the ceiling, and the snowy trees and castle beyond the arched windows. Finish the shiny floor tiles in light colors.
Questions to talk about
- What is Flora wishing for with her hands pressed to her chest?
- Would tulip leaves covered in snow say they feel cold?
- How do you feel when you see flowers starting to bloom?
Take it further
Fold a sheet of colored paper in half and cut a W shape along the top to make a tulip. Make several, stand them in a paper cup pot, and add a little cotton wool on top for snow-dusted tulips.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
