Coloring order

  1. Color Joshua's brown robe and the blue cloth over his shoulder first, then the tall staff in his hand in a wood tone.
  2. Make the white robes of the people blowing horns on the right and the blue banner on the left really stand out.
  3. Alternate two sandstone shades for the long wall, towers and gate like bricks, and leave the palm trees for last.

Questions to talk about

  • What job do the banner and the horns do in this march?
  • What are the people waiting for in front of the big wall?
  • Have you ever walked in step with a group, or done something all together?

Take it further

In Joshua 6 the people walk around the city of Jericho. March in a line to a drum beat in a hallway or yard, and freeze when the signal comes.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
