Coloring order

  1. Start with the big tree on the left: color its spiky layers of branches green, and save the star on top for yellow.
  2. Leave most of the baby polar bear white, with just a touch of light blue or gray along the fur's edges. Make the Santa hat red with a white trim.
  3. Finish with the ornaments and string lights on the tree, the bricks and three stockings on the fireplace at right, and the presents under the tree.

Questions to talk about

  • Where on the tree should the bear hang the ornament it's holding?
  • Who do you think the three stockings by the fire belong to?
  • Is there something your family decorates together in winter?

Take it further

Cut circles from colored paper to make your own ornaments and stick them beside the tree on your Christmas polar bear page. Write a family member's or friend's name on each one.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
