Activity guide for this page
- Recommended age
- Ages 5–8
- Estimated time
- 20–30 min
- Difficulty
- Medium
- Areas to color
- about 50
Coloring order
- Color the tiger's whole body a bright, even orange first, leaving the chest, cheeks and belly white.
- Then paint the stripes on the sides and legs in black or dark brown, starting with the thickest ones, one at a time.
- Last, do the stripes on the curling tail, the pink pad on the raised paw, and the eyes and nose.
Questions to talk about
- The tiger is raising one paw. Who might it be waving to?
- If you had stripes, where would they be, and what shape?
- Have you seen clothes or things with stripes? What were they?
Take it further
Raise one hand like the tiger and tiptoe around quietly. See who can walk with the softest steps, and try swishing an imaginary tail too.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
