Coloring order
- Color the wide frill around Triverda's neck first, using leafy greens, and switch shades a little in the spaces between the veins.
- Give the single horn above the nose, the two long horns over the eyes and the beak-like mouth the same warm, light color.
- Finish with the small triangle bumps along the frill's edge and the round scales on the body, alternating colors one by one.
Questions to talk about
- Triverda has three horns. Can you find where each one is?
- If you could hide behind that big frill, what would you do there?
- This guardian protects a meadow. What would you like to protect?
Take it further
Cut a fan shape from paper, attach it behind a headband as a frill, add three rolled-paper horns, and play Triceratops herd together.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
