- Color Beaconfin's wavy scales teal and sky blue, the belly and chest pearly cream, and mix teal, cream and coral orange across the feathers of the big wing.
- Make the circle in the middle of the fan tail glow yellow like a lighthouse beam and the claws navy, then finish the cliff steps, rocks and flowers in another session.
Questions to talk about
- What do you think Beaconfin is watching for from the edge of the cliff?
- Can you find all the seabirds in the sky? How many are there?
- What does a lighthouse do for ships at night?
Take it further
Paint red and white stripes on a paper cup or cardboard tube to make a small lighthouse, then shine a flashlight on it and make up a story about Beaconfin guiding a boat home.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
