- Areas to color
- about 230
Coloring order
- Color the icy, see-through wing panels of Crysel in pale sky blue and light violet, alternating them, with slightly deeper edges.
- Paint the whitish body and neck scales very lightly in pale blue so the white of the paper stays like a sparkle.
- Last, trace the snowflake at the bottom and the sharp icicle shapes near the tail in a deeper blue, following the lines.
Questions to talk about
- Crysel's wings are split into glassy panels. What shapes can you find?
- If you met Crysel on a snowy day, what would you say?
- How would you describe the feeling of touching something icy cold?
Take it further
Fold white paper several times, snip small shapes with safety scissors and unfold it into a snowflake to hang beside Crysel.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
