Coloring order
- Color the overlapping armor plates across Ferragor's shoulders and back in grays and silvers, alternating plate by plate.
- Outline the plate edges and the horn on the right-hand face in orange or brown so they look like metal rims.
- Last, color the big stone ball on the tail curling up at the upper left and the thick claws on all four feet in dark gray.
Questions to talk about
- Why do you think Ferragor stands so low and heavy?
- What does the big stone ball at the end of the tail look like to you?
- Have you ever carried something heavy, like a full bag? How did it feel?
Take it further
Crumple paper into a ball and wrap it in foil to make the stone at the end of Ferragor's tail. You can cut out shiny armor pieces too.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
