Activity guide for this page
- Recommended age
- Ages 5–8
- Estimated time
- 20–30 min
- Difficulty
- Medium
- Areas to color
- about 45
Coloring order
- Color the rocket's rounded nose and its side fins in the same red, and the long body in white or cream.
- Make the round window light blue, then color the flames below in yellow, orange and red. Keep the smiling face inside the window clear.
- Color the launch tower on the left soft purple, the puffy smoke clouds on both sides with light-blue lines, and the crescent moon and stars yellow.
Questions to talk about
- Just before liftoff, what is the friend in the window saying?
- What do the big white smoke clouds under the launch-pad rocket look like?
- Have you ever counted numbers backward? When was that?
Take it further
Count backward from ten to zero, then shout 'Blast off!' and jump up high. You can also make a little rocket from a cardboard tube.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
