Coloring order

  1. First color the huge rock wall filling the right side in reddish brown and orange, leaving the little handholds on it white for now.
  2. Make Nari's helmet teal, her hoodie coral and her pants purple, then color the harness at her waist, the chalk bag and the rope running upward.
  3. Now give the handholds you left white a mix of red, yellow and green, and finish with the waterfall on the left, the pointed trees and the hut with the coiled rope.

Questions to talk about

  • What will Nari see when she reaches the top?
  • When you do sport climbing, who should be there with you below?
  • Have you ever climbed up somewhere high? How did it feel?

Take it further

Stick colored stickers low on a wall, set an order like "red, then yellow," and touch them in turn. Keep both feet on the floor and move only your hands.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
