Coloring order
- The same scene is drawn twice, top and bottom. Start with the top one: swimmer Sua's blue swimsuit and pink swim cap.
- Color the goggle lenses sky blue, the outstretched arms, legs and face a peach tone, and the orange stripes on the swimsuit.
- Alternate teal and sky blue for the waves and flying drops, then color the lower scene the same way or differently.
Questions to talk about
- What is the same and what is different between the top and bottom scenes?
- Where will Sua's raised arm go next?
- How did it feel when you played in the water?
Take it further
Color the top and bottom scenes slightly differently on purpose, then trade with a friend to spot the differences. Windmill your arms like a swimmer too.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
