Activity guide for this page

Recommended age: Ages 6–9
Estimated time: 30–45 min
Difficulty: Medium
Areas to color: about 180

Coloring order

Start with the table top and legs in one blue, leaving the little squares of the net white so the table tennis table stands out.
Color Yerin's T-shirt coral and her shorts navy, then bring out the red paddle she is reaching forward with and the motion lines trailing the white ball.
Save the two banners on the back wall, the ball basket at right, the ceiling lamps and the floor stripes for last.

Questions to talk about

Where on the other side will Yerin's ball land?
When the ball basket is empty, what game would you play next?
How could you loosen up your wrists and shoulders before picking up a paddle?

Take it further

Use two paper cups as paddles and bat a balloon back and forth with a friend. Count together how many hits you can make before the balloon touches the floor.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.

Printing and coloring tips

Print on A4 or Letter in portrait to keep the original proportions.
Keep the finished version open beside you while you color.
Use slightly heavier paper with water-based markers so the ink shows through less.
Fill the large areas first and leave the small ones for later.
The finished version is only a suggestion. Any colors you like will work.
