Coloring order
- Start with the black frame of the road bike coming toward you and its two big wheels, leaving the spaces between the thin spokes white.
- Color Yuchan's vented helmet white and the sports goggles blue, then split the cycling jersey into lime green and yellow.
- Save the sunflowers on the left, the guardrail, the three wind turbines on the hills and the village with its pointed tower for last.
Questions to talk about
- Which village will Yuchan reach at the end of this winding road?
- What might you smell riding past a field of sunflowers?
- Besides a helmet, what else should you bring when you ride a bike?
Take it further
Draw spokes on two paper plates to make bike wheels, then sit on a chair and pedal with your legs in the air for a pretend road race.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
