Coloring order
- Begin with the huge round drum on Miko's back. Color it in white and teal so the two stripes spiral around it.
- Color the green cab, the big eyes and the happy smile one section at a time, then the chute pointing out in front in silver.
- Leave the big wheels and hubs for last, using dark gray and silver.
Questions to talk about
- Why do you think Miko's drum keeps turning around and around?
- What kind of building site is Miko heading to today?
- Have you ever watched a building being put up?
Take it further
Put sand and water in a cup and stir slowly with a spoon. Talk together about why Miko's drum might need to keep turning.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
