Coloring order
- Color Clover the gardener bunny's overalls first. A soft denim blue like the reference works nicely.
- Next do the wide straw hat with the ears poking through and the knee-high rain boots, and don't forget the buttons on the overall straps.
- Finish with the small details: the watering can in his paw, the falling drops, and the flowerpot with its carrot sprout at the lower left.
Questions to talk about
- How big do you think the carrot sprout will grow?
- Why do you think Clover cut ear holes in his hat?
- Have you ever watered a plant? What kind was it?
Take it further
Line a clear cup with damp tissue, set a few beans on it, and water them like Clover does. Draw a picture each day as the sprouts appear.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
