Coloring order

  1. Color Deborah's blue robe and bright yellow shawl in big shapes first as she stands on the hill, then her long braid in a deep shade.
  2. Color the brown cloak, red sash and shoulder bag of Barak, who stands beside her, in colors that differ from hers.
  3. Finish the tent village in the valley below, the winding road, the olive tree and the rising sun, starting with the small spaces.

Questions to talk about

  • Which way do you think Deborah is pointing with her finger?
  • What might the people in the tent village below be doing?
  • Who helped you when you were lost? How did they help?

Take it further

In Judges 4 Deborah shows Barak the way. Draw a simple treasure map of a room, hide an object, and guide a friend with words like 'three steps forward'.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
