Coloring order

  1. Color the tall walls of water on both sides in two or three blue-greens, blending them from top to bottom.
  2. Color Moses' red cloak, white beard and raised staff, then make his blue sash stand out in a color different from the cloak.
  3. Give each person, the child and the donkey following him a different outfit color, and finish the stony path in gray-brown.

Questions to talk about

  • How would you feel walking down a path with walls of water on both sides?
  • What do you think the child following Moses is looking at?
  • Have you ever felt scared but found the courage to do something?

Take it further

Act out Exodus 14 with your body. Two people hold up blue cloth or paper like walls, and everyone else walks through the gap one by one.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
