Coloring order

  1. Color the round tray of bread Sarah carries in both hands and her rosy robe first, then the cloth around her head in a pale cream.
  2. Color the guests sitting in the shade of the tent behind her, and the tent roof, in sandy tones and brown.
  3. Finish the mixing bowl and jar on the front table, the striped rug on the ground and the faraway palms, following the stripes line by line.

Questions to talk about

  • What do you think the bread in Sarah's hands smells like?
  • What might the guests under the tent be talking about?
  • Do you remember helping when a guest came to your home?

Take it further

In Genesis 18 Sarah gets bread ready for her guests. Cut round loaves from colored paper, put them on a plate, and act out welcoming a visitor.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
