Activity guide for this page

Recommended age: Ages 8–12
Estimated time: 50–80 min
Difficulty: Challenging
Areas to color: about 350

Coloring order

Start broad: color the tall red rock towers behind and the dirt track in orange and brick red. Then fill in the sky with blue.
The Cybertruck looks like flat panels joined together, so give each panel its own shade of gray, and color the long light bar across the front and the knobby tires separately.
Last, color the round dome made of triangles, the big dish antenna, the squares on the solar panels at right, and the shrubs and pebbles below, one at a time.

Questions to talk about

What might people study at this outpost in the middle of the desert?
Who might the big dish antenna be talking to?
At home, are there more pointy-cornered things or round things?

Take it further

Cut colored paper into only triangles and rectangles and glue them into an angular car like the Cybertruck. Then build a dome beside it from small triangles.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.

Printing and coloring tips

Print on A4 or Letter in portrait to keep the original proportions.
Keep the finished version open beside you while you color.
Use slightly heavier paper with water-based markers so the ink shows through less.
Fill the large areas first and leave the small ones for later.
The finished version is only a suggestion. Any colors you like will work.
