Coloring order
- First color the angular body of the flying roadster concept hovering in the air silver gray, and make the windshield and side windows deep navy.
- Color the jet columns shooting straight down from under the car light blue and white, and shade the puffy steam clouds spreading over the ground in soft gray.
- Finish with the dome-roofed buildings and mountains behind and the small lights around the round launch pad, then turn the sky into night with purple and navy.
Questions to talk about
- What sound might this car make as it first lifts off?
- Why might they practice taking off in the dark of night?
- If cars could fly, where would you want to go first?
Take it further
Glue toilet paper tubes under a small box to make a flying car, draw a round launch pad on paper, and pretend to lift off after a "three, two, one!" countdown.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
