Coloring order

  1. Fill in Jinwoo's chunky cardigan and sleeves, as he sits cross-legged, with one deep chestnut or plum shade before anything else.
  2. Alternate white, light green and pink on each songpyeon on the offered plate, and use browns and beige for the teacup and table runner.
  3. Finish the huge full moon, the silvery grass on the right, the fruit branch at upper left and the hanok eaves in yellow, orange and navy.

Questions to talk about

  • Who do you think Jinwoo is offering the songpyeon to, and what is he saying?
  • Is there someone who comes to mind when you look at a full moon?
  • What was the most memorable dish you ate at Chuseok?

Take it further

Think back to making songpyeon yourself or watching someone shape them, and sketch that scene small beside the page.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
