Coloring order

  1. Color Frosty's face and body a pale sky blue first, then give the belly a light lavender to make it look soft and cozy.
  2. Use light blue and near-white shades for the two horns and the wide-open wings so they look clear and icy.
  3. Finish the snowflake at the end of the long, curling tail in a deep blue, and leave the white sparkles in the eyes uncolored.

Questions to talk about

  • Can you find the snowflake at the end of Frosty's tail? What does it look like?
  • What kind of weather do you think Frosty likes best?
  • Have you ever touched snow or ice? How did it feel?

Take it further

Fold white paper and cut out a snowflake with safety scissors, then compare it with the one on Frosty's tail. How are they alike and different?

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
