Coloring order
- Color Gemmy's round face and body a very pale blue or lilac so it still looks like a white dragon, and keep the belly even lighter.
- Fill the stripes on each wing one by one in rainbow order. If both wings follow the same order, they will match perfectly.
- Last, color the two crystal horns and the heart gem on the tail in light, sparkly shades, and the big eyes in a bold dark color.
Questions to talk about
- How many colored stripes can you count on Gemmy's wings?
- Who would you like to give Gemmy's heart gem to?
- When and where did you last see a rainbow?
Take it further
Color paper strips in many colors and glue them in a fan shape to make rainbow wings like Gemmy's, then say the color names in order.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
