Coloring order
- Start with the giant tree castle behind Snowy Evergreen Princess Bella. Make the trunk brown, keep the snow on the roofs white, and color the windows yellow so the lights look switched on.
- Color Bella's green cloak and cream skirt, then dot the berry vines embroidered on the skirt with red and green. Don't forget the red bow at her waist and the red underskirt peeking out at the hem.
- Finish with the rabbit in the bottom left and the squirrel on the stump to the right in warm browns, and paint the mushroom-shaped lanterns hanging from the branch on the left in red and yellow.
Questions to talk about
- What is the squirrel holding so tightly in its paws?
- Who lives with whom inside the tree castle?
- Have you ever met an animal in the woods or a park in winter?
Take it further
On a walk, collect pinecones, twigs and fallen leaves, then arrange them on a sheet of paper to build a winter forest house. Add a little cotton wool on top and it will look like snow on the roof.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
