Coloring order

  1. Start with Pebble's round purple body, then color the pale green window on its face and the two antenna tips on top separately.
  2. Fill each square of the solar wings on both sides in blue and silver, and color the arm reaching forward gray and yellow.
  3. Use three grays for the lumpy asteroid by the claw, changing the shade for each crater, and finish with the twinkling stars in yellow.

Questions to talk about

  • What do you think Pebble's claw is trying to bring back from the asteroid?
  • Why do you think the asteroid is so lumpy and bumpy?
  • Have you ever collected stones? What shape was your favorite?

Take it further

Look closely at a small stone you picked up on a walk and describe its shape, color and pattern. Draw it big and name it your own asteroid.

Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
