Coloring order

- Use sky blue and light blue for the long curving streaks of light, and finish with the tiny Earth-like planet at the top right and the stars.
Questions to talk about
- This black hole's face is dark, but it is smiling. What is it thinking?
- Can you find something around you that swirls like these bands?
- How do you feel when you look up at a pitch-dark night sky?
Take it further
On black paper, leave the middle empty and swirl pink, orange and yellow crayon all around it to make your very own black hole picture.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
