- Use yellow for the small Sun in the top right and the three beams reaching toward Mercury. Finish with the orbit line and stars.
Questions to talk about
- Mercury has so many round dents. How do you think they got there?
- Sunlight is streaming toward Mercury from the top right. How does it feel?
- Have you ever dug a hole in a sandbox? How big did it get?
Take it further
Draw lots of craters on paper with brown and gray crayons, then give each one a funny name to make your own map of Mercury.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
