Coloring order
- Color the two big solar panels of the space station deep blue, square by square. There are lots, so go one row at a time.
- Alternate white and silver-gray on the round middle section and the tube joined to it, and make the round hatch light blue.
- Color the shuttle at the lower left white with orange wings and a light blue window, then the Earth below and the Moon at the top right.
Questions to talk about
- Docking is about to begin at the space station. How will the shuttle and station say hello?
- The solar panels are wide and made of little squares. Why do you think they are spread so wide?
- Have you ever snapped building blocks together? What did you build?
Take it further
Join two sets of blocks or small boxes to show the shuttle meeting the station, then make up what each one says at the moment they connect.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
