Coloring order
- Color ice hockey player Kyle's big jersey in white, red and blue bands, and match the blue pants and helmet.
- Take the wire-cage mask over his face, the brown stick in his hands and the black puck on the ice one at a time.
- Finish with the rink wall behind him, the net at the right and the skate marks on the ice in pale colors.
Questions to talk about
- Where is Kyle racing to send the puck?
- Why does he need gear wrapped around his face and body?
- Have you ever slid on ice? How did it feel?
Take it further
Use a paper plate as a puck and a stiff piece of cardboard as a stick, gently pushing it between taped goal lines. Walk, never run.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
