Coloring order
- Begin with the brown horse's body, mane and tail, and mark the navy leg wraps near its hooves as separate parts.
- Color Nari's light blue and white striped shirt, navy helmet and brown riding boots in colors that stand out from the horse.
- Last, follow the thin lines of the long polo mallet raised high, the saddle and the reins, slowly and carefully.
Questions to talk about
- Why do you think Nari is holding the mallet up high on horseback?
- How might Nari feel galloping across wide open fields in Argentina?
- Have you ever met an animal up close? What was it like?
Take it further
Cut yarn to glue on as the horse's mane and tail on a printed copy, then give the horse a fitting name and introduce it to a friend.
Age and time are rough guides for a child coloring alone with pencils or crayons; every child is different. The area count is an estimate counted from the line-art image.
